Orphanage Work Day
It's a new week and I'm flying over the Caribbean, coming back from my 47th trip to Haiti. It was a truly wonderful time praise to God. For this week's update I want to share about our incredible time today at Madam Tabitas orphanage.
We loaded all the tools, supplies and most of our team into the pickup. The children are more comfortable with me each time I come. Today was the first time they actually ran to the truck as we arrived....I also realized they have grown wise to the fact that I always carry candy in my pockets. The goal was to bury about 500 ft of Romex wire from the newly installed solar system to the school building. I also brought a complete RO water filtration system with me in my bags to relieve the children from drinking water every day that makes them sick. In the end we accomplished those things but my true joy was spending some quality time with these beautiful children. They have suffered so much, and yet they smile, love life and are willing to share joy with a stranger.
The younger children followed us around and helped however they could. They enjoyed the clean water that was plentiful enough for everyone to drink their fill. Madam Tabita fed our team and all the children together ...there is also one less pig in her yard now. Tabita is one of many servants of God in Haiti that inspire me to keep sacrificing for children in Haiti. She has given most her life to love and guide 175 children that society has left behind. The love of Jesus flows through her every breath.
Thanks for your prayers and support that allow IOCH to partner with 50 equally amazing schools all over northern Haiti. I will share more about this trip in the coming updates.
